The journey of F.R.O.G. soap

Andi and Greg, the heart and soul behind FROG Soap, stand proudly outside their shop, a beacon of community spirit and sustainable living in Bremerton.

This is the tale of F.R.O.G. Soap, told through the lives of Andi and Greg, two amazing humans united by a passion for sustainability and the essence of small-town life.

Journey of Beginnings

It's a place where every product is a piece of art, inviting you to explore and indulge.

Picture this: a small shop with shelves lined with beautifully crafted bars of soap. The air is filled with the scents of lavender, rosemary, and citrus, creating a calm yet invigorating atmosphere. It's my favorite store to walk by in the evening because the aroma just draws you in, spilling out onto the street.

Andi's journey with FROG (From Reclaimed Oil & Glycerin) Soap started back in 2021. She was juggling part-time classes at Olympic College and, as fate would have it, went from being a customer to an employee. The job's flexibility was a perfect fit. What blew her away was learning that the soap was made from reclaimed fryer oil, right in line with her zero-waste philosophy.

Rows of handcrafted soap line the shelves at FROG Soap, filling the air with calming scents of lavender, rosemary, and citrus.

Then there's Greg, who moved from Ohio and found himself intrigued by the shop’s quirky name and its low-waste ethos. When Andi started working there, it planted a seed. With Laura, the original owner, planning to retire, they saw their chance to own a slice of Bremerton history. Greg was working at the shipyard and traveling in Japan when they had to make the decision. There wasn't much time to sit and think; they had to jump in with both feet.

They had only a few weeks to get everything together, but they took the plunge. The first year was a whirlwind of crises and learning experiences, but their mission was clear: keep this beloved local business alive.

Crafting with Heart

Every bar of soap at FROG Soap is crafted with intention and care. Andi and Greg stuck to the original recipes, tweaking designs only to meet customer preferences. They love their product and aim to make the business self-sustaining. Their soap, simple yet effective, showcases the magic of reclaimed fryer oil, part of a broader movement.

Greg, deep in concentration, mixes the ingredients that will transform into FROG Soap's signature bars, blending science with artistry.

Andi adds vibrant colors to the soap molds, blending creativity with tradition to produce unique bars.

Sustainability and Soul

For Andi and Greg, sustainability isn't just a buzzword; it's a lifestyle. They source ingredients locally, offer discounts for tin returns, and support small businesses. The shop’s décor features local artists, swapping out plastic decorations for pieces that have real meaning.

Vision and Legacy

Looking ahead, Andi and Greg dream of growth and sustainability. They aim to expand into wholesale, ensuring the shop’s survival. Franchising is a distant dream, but the idea of sourcing oil locally wherever they go excites them. They hope people take away a sense of sustainability and quality from FROG Soap. They want their customers to know that even reclaimed materials can create something beautiful and effective.

Their legacy is one of simple, honest products that are better for people and the planet.

FROG Soap proudly celebrates PRIDE and LGBTQ acceptance with vibrant displays and products that reflect our commitment to inclusivity and community support.

Closing Thoughts

As you walk through FROG Soap, let the scents envelop you. Andi and Greg's journey captures the spirit of small businesses and the communities that support them.

As someone who lives in the community, it's incredible to see local artisans supporting each other. FROG Soap has a Ridgeline Brewery soap that I've been using, and it's fantastic! This collaboration highlights the spirit of camaraderie and mutual support that defines Bremerton. Andi and Greg's commitment to working with other local businesses enriches the community and brings a unique touch to their products.

This isn’t just about soap; it's about passion, commitment, and making a difference one soap bar at a time. Dive into their world, and you’ll see – FROG Soap is where dreams and dedication come together.
